DH planned an Anniversary celebration that was so AMAZING. It was ALL a surprise to me and it not only surprised me, but it made me love him and appreciate him so, so much. It's not like we have been married that long. We have been married for six years, but we have to celebrate what we have. Meaning...who knows when he will be deployed or training during one of our Anniversaries.
Anniversary Number Six is the best yet! Thanks to my romantic, loving, creative Hubby!
He started the count down with little yellow post-it notes on the bathroom mirror. Each day for a week he wrote little clues as to what we might be doing. For example, Clue #1: We will be staying overnight so be sure to pack..... and he made a list of things for me to pack!
Finally, Friday came and the awesome (Thanks Karen!) babysitter came over and we left on our adventure!
We stayed in Park City in a Bed & Breakfast. After we were married we spent two days in Park City at a Bed & Breakfast. Then we left for our honeymoon. The Bed & Breakfast that we stayed in was sold and made into a private residence. Dh tried to get "our" original Bed & Breakfast, but it was fun to stay in a new one!
When I walked into our room DH had an AMAZING surprise for me. It was a duplicate of the top layer of our wedding cake. He had it re-created for us. It was exactly like our wedding cake. He went to the same bakery and asked them to make it the way it was for our wedding day! It was such a great surprise and so tender of him to think of re-creating our cake!
That night for dinner we went to a ridiculously expensive ristorante and shared an entree. It was great!
We of course had cake for dessert!
The next morning there was even more that DH planned for our Anniversary! We had to wake up very early. We were out the door by 6:00 AM. I was curious and very excited to discover where we were going. We pulled up to a Park City Hotel and a very friendly man met us and directed us where to park. I didn't know what we were doing until I read the logo on his shirt. The logo said...Park City Hot Air Balloon Rides!
We were going to touch the clouds and ride in an Hot Air Balloon! The great thing about this is...I have always yearned to be in the sky touching the clouds. I love the thought of being in the sky and having no limits...as in...no enclosure or windows.
The hot air balloon ride was fantastic! We were in the air/sky for almost 2 hours and it was beautiful. Hot air balloons have no control of which direction the wind will blow them, so after our time in the air...the balloon floated over some multi-million dollar homes and guess what...we landed right in the middle of the street. The home owners were so welcoming and were so happy to have a HUGE hot air balloon in their front yards and their street.
Needless to say, DH planned an amazing Anniversary celebration. He is my best friend and he made our sixth year Anniversary the best. Since we started to date and have became Eternal companions, he has made my life...so complete. He truly is my best friend and really does make me feel so important and he makes me feel like I'm the ONLY one for him. He makes all my wishes come true. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BUBBERS!

Okay, I'd think it was still a good anniversary if all he'd done was arrange a sitter and take you to a B & B...but then the wedding cake? and the hot air balloon ride? John, you just officially won Husband of the Year! :) Awesome!
Wow! Congratulations on 6 years. That is an amazing anniversary gift. I agree with Heidi--you are the "Husband of the Year" award recipient, John.
That was awesome! Wow! My husband and I have been married for almost 16 years and I have never gotten anything remotely that thoughtful and cool for an anniversary. Way to go to your husband!!! Keep up the good work.
WOW!!! What a fantastic trip! Congratulations on the anniversary.
