Amish. The tour began by taking a wagon ride through the contry side.
Our tour guide made a recommendation that we drive around trying to
get lost and when we find a sign for quilts for sale go in and buy a
quilt for less than on the main tourist drag. Well we found such a
place and although Emily and I both knew that a quality quilt cost
money we were not ready for a price tag of $600-$800 for a Queen size.
As we traveled to a couple other home based businesses we saw the same
price range. I think tomorrow we are going to Intercourse (large
tourist trap) and it will be interesting to see if there is a markup.
Emily was able to find some fun hand made items. Her favorites are
Martha and Samuel (seen above). She has also been looking for an
apron but she doesn't like spending a lot if money or getting a pretty
one that will get dirty so mr goal is to find a traditional black
Amish work apron.
Today was just a great day learning about a new culture and watching
Emily's face light up with joy!!

I love getting the updates! I know hand made quilts take FOREVER, but I had no idea they cost so much. Have fun in your travels, you're inspiring me to want to take trips! :)
