Historic Savannah and Paula Deen

We did the toursty Savannah tours today an saw all things downtown.
Not to much has changed although there are a couple more statues. Of
significant note is the "new" square being redeveloped at city market.
If anyone remembers the parking garage east of city market, it has
been torn down to rebuild the original square.

Also of note is how ridiculous Lady and Sons has become. Before we
moved from Savannah in 2004 she had moved down the street. Although it
was a bit difficult to get in for dinner now it is redonkulous to get
dinner. They start taking in person reservations for dinner at 0930.
If you get in line at that time you will be at least two blocks from
the hostess. Thankfully Emily was able to get us in for dinner, but
I think in the processes I picked up a second mortgage!! Of course
the food is completely worth all the effort and why not, the base
ingredient is butter!!

The heat and humidity have wrecked the kids and sent them to bed
early. But that radiant shine on Emily's cheeks reminds me just how
beautiful she is and was when I met her here 8 years ago. Three kids
later she is still my gorgeous southern belle.

I heard Paula Deen on the radio once. She told us about her famous hamburger on Krispy Kreem donuts. Amazing. Sounds like y'all are havin' one amazing road trip!
