336 Hours

I can't believe it has been 14 days since our little one was born! Some days it feels as if it has only been hours since we came home from the hospital... and then other days it feels like he has been years!

Things are going really well for us. It has been a GREAT transition from two chit'lins to three. The biggest transition for me is...not getting a full nights rest. I forgot how it feels to not be able to sleep through the night. Oh well... sleep will come in time!

Isaac was born on the first snow fall of the year! It made me so happy to look out the window and see snow falling. It was special to have snow and for him to be born on a snowy day.

Another really neat experience...On Friday night (Isaac was born on Sunday morning) I couldn't sleep. I was having small contractions and I just couldn't relax. I finally was able to fall asleep and I had a dream. In the dream I saw our little Isaac and he looked at me and said, "Mom if you want me to be born soon you are going to have to change my name to Michael Isaac!" (We were planning on naming him James Isaac.) I replied and told him, "I will name you ANYTHING just come!" So, Saturday morning I woke up and told DH..."Hubby if you want our baby to come we have to name him Michael Isaac." Dh's response was, "Ummm...ok...sure...why not!" Throughout Saturday I was having intense contractions and I couldn't stand them anymore so Saturday night we went in and three hours later he was born! We ended up naming him what he wanted!

So far Isaac has given our family comfort. That is the only way I can describe it. There is a comfort that comes from knowing that we have another little one to love, hold, teach and laugh with. Each day I ask John, "Don't you just love Isaac and become so happy to be with him?"

Isaac has lost his umbilical cord, which is a record for our little ones. It took Ethan 1 month to loose his and it took Eliza to 3 weeks. For you mothers out there...you don't use alcohol on umbilical cords anymore. I think it is great to eliminate another step in the diaper changing process

Isaac has become more aware of his strength. He raises his head, wiggles and moves so much. It is great to see him change and gain more awareness of his body!

Ok, Ok, so to wrap up this email....Isaac Happy Two Weeks! You are such a great Comfort to our Family!

I love his name. I'm glad he decided to come when he did! And how neat on the first snow fall. He is adorable and I'm glad everyone is well!

Isn't it funny how two weeks can seem like no time at all, yet also seem like forever? He is darling and I enjoyed hearing about the dream and the snowfall. Interesting! Take care.
